Five Minute Clay ("the app", "we") is a pottery and wellbeing app. This page explains what information the app uses and why. In short: you can use the app without an account, we do not sell your information, and we collect only what the app needs to work.
Without an account
Your pots, shelf, settings, lesson progress and downloaded lessons are saved on your phone. Deleting the app deletes them.
If you sign in
Signing in is optional and uses Sign in with Apple or Google. When you sign in we store:
- an account ID and the email address Apple or Google gives us (with Apple you can choose to hide your real email);
- your Embers balance and history, the courses and items you own, and your pots, so they are safe and follow you to a new phone.
This data is stored with our database provider, Supabase.
Purchases
Studio, courses and Ember packs are paid through Apple's App Store or Google Play. We never see your card details. We use RevenueCat to check what you have bought and to restore purchases. RevenueCat receives your app account ID and your purchase records. See RevenueCat's privacy policy.
Optional video ads
The app never shows an ad unless you ask for one. If you tap to watch a video to earn Embers, the video comes from an ad network. That network may receive your device type, IP address and, only if you allow it, your device's advertising identifier, so it can show and measure the ad. We pass it your app account ID only so it can confirm your reward. Studio members never see ads, and ads never play during a lesson.
Lessons and sounds
Lesson audio and some pictures are downloaded from our file host. Like any website, the host sees your IP address when a file is downloaded. We do not use it to identify you.
Notifications
If you turn on reminders, they are scheduled on your phone. No reminder data is sent to us.
What we do not do
- We do not sell or rent your information.
- We do not use your microphone, camera, contacts, photos or location.
- We do not track you across other companies' apps and websites.
Keeping and deleting your data
We keep account data while your account exists. To delete it, open Settings in the app and tap Delete account, or email us. Purchase records that Apple, Google or RevenueCat must keep by law stay with them.
Children
The app is not made for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you think a child has given us information, email us and we will delete it.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example the EU, UK or California), you may have the right to see, correct, export or delete your information. Email us and we will help.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new date.
